Peter Hecht, PhD

Chief Executive Officer

Peter Hecht, PhD, is the chief executive officer of Tisento Therapeutics. He is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience building and leading biotechs of all stages, from founding companies with a handful of teammates to leading a fully integrated company with hundreds of employees and global partnerships, marketing products around the world. In addition to executing multiple partnerships and strategic transactions, Peter has raised well over $1 billion in equity, debt, and structured financings. Previously, Peter was founding CEO of Cyclerion Therapeutics (NASDAQ: CYCN) and Ironwood Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ: IRWD). Peter currently serves on the boards of Tisento, Cyclerion, Kallyope, and Mythic Therapeutics.

Prior to founding Ironwood (nee Microbia), Peter was a research fellow at Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research. He earned a PhD in molecular biology from the University of California at Berkeley, and an MS in biology and a BS in mathematics from Stanford University.
